Shrek, The Musical TYA version

Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek the Musical TYA is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message of acceptance. The Old Town Playhouse Theatre for Young Audiences troupe will perform Shrek the Musical TYA at Milliken Auditorium Friday, October 9th at 10am. The cast will also lead the audience through brief, in place, theatre games we call Matinee Movement Medley.
Henhouse Prowlers Bluegrass Ambassadors

Bluegrass Ambassadors' school residency program introduces students to American roots music through live performance, storytelling, and hands-on participation led by members of the internationally touring bluegrass band Henhouse Prowlers. Each program is tailored to its community, folding local musical heritage, influential artists, and history into the experience alongside the story of bluegrass and its place within the broader American musical landscape. Drawing on more than a decade of experience working with young people in schools and communities across dozens of countries, the band creates a welcoming, playful, and highly interactive environment where students are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and engage with confidence. Students gain insight into life as professional touring musicians while experiencing bluegrass instruments firsthand by trying them for themselves, providing exposure to instruments they might not otherwise encounter. By connecting their community's musical heritage with the broader story of American roots music, the program encourages students to see themselves as the next generation of artists, storytellers, and cultural leaders.

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted To Know About Jazz Music is a twelve-episode educational docuseries on the subject of jazz music that aims to cultivate a greater appreciation, awareness and understanding of some of the many facets of the art form that make it such a rich, vital, compelling and uniquely American musical tradition.
