The Dennos Museum Center
Scholarships for K-12 Programming

The Dennos Museum Center has two scholarships available that help cover admission and travel costs for public and private K-12 school guided tours and educational concerts at the Dennos Museum Center. These scholarships are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to schools that would not be able to fund trips in other ways. A maximum of $500 will be awarded per visit, with no multiple awards going to the same group of students.  The program must be scheduled before funds are applied for.

To apply for these funds, download the grant request forms below and send them to gacook@nmc.edu or mail to Education Department, Dennos Museum Center, 1701 E. Front Street, Traverse City, MI 49686.

All busing and transportation invoices must be received by the Dennos Museum Center within 30 days of the museum visit in order to receive funding.  Invoices received 30 days or more after the museum visit will not be paid.

The General Program Scholarship

Each year the Dennos Museum Center's Museum Store holds a raffle during its Holiday Art Fair to feed the specially established Musem Education Tour Fund account. Individuals from the community have also donated money designated specifically for this fund. All funds in this account will be used to provide money for K-12 schools to cover travel costs and/or admission costs to the Dennos Museum Center for docent-led tours or educational concerts.
