Revised 3/28/08

Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs
Regional Regranting Program

The Regional Regranting program is funded by the State of Michigan through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and administered by 19 regional regranting agencies across the state.

The Dennos Museum Center is the regranting agency for Region 10, which includes Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties. This funding is available for locally developed, high quality arts and cultural projects that offer special opportunities to address local arts needs and increase public access to the arts. These grants support a broad range of projects that preserve, produce or present the traditional or contemporary arts that employ Michigan artists.

There Will Be Two Funding Periods In Fy 09

Funding rounds and application deadlines: Applications are available now for Round One of fiscal year 2009. Application deadline is August 1 for projects beginning on or after October 1, 2008 and concluding by September 30, 2009. Application deadline for Round Two is February 2, 2009 for projects held April 1 through September 30.

Who is Eligible? Michigan nonprofit organizations, public and private schools, cities, townships, and villages from within Region 10 planning an arts or cultural event may apply. Applicants must have non-profit status as evidenced through an Internal Revenue Service letter of determination, i.e., 501(c) (3), or State of Michigan Certificate of Incorporation.

How much funding may you ask for? Applicants may request up to $4,000 on a matching basis. Requests for regrant funds may not exceed one-half of the project's cost.

How are applications evaluated? Each application is reviewed and scored by a group of independent panelists according to the guidelines and criteria as described in the guidelines. The panelists are from many of the counties within Region 10 and come from a variety of arts backgrounds. Neither the Dennos Museum Center nor the administrator has any voice in which applications are funded. Regrant funding decisions may not be appealed.

Should you have specific questions please contact the regrant administrator Diane Hubert at regrant@nmc.edu

All forms are in Adobe Acrobat format. Both the questionnaire and the grant application should be typed directly into, and then printed and submitted.

Workshops are held at the Dennos Museum Center on the campus of Northwestern Michigan College approximately one month prior to each application deadline.
