Body Issues in Contemporary Art with Suzanne Eberle

Thursday, September 30, 2010, 7:00 pm

Many artists address contemporary, gender-driven issues of the body, focusing on women’s personal and psychological discontent with themselves and society’s pressure to conform to certain narrow standards of beauty. Join us as we discuss how artists like Janine Antoni, Maureen Connor, and Karen LaMonde use traditional and cutting edge art practices to explore fragility and loss in women’s lives and celebrate the power and beauty of the female form.
