The Dennos Museum Center

Free Between the Folds Screening

Between the FoldsThursday, May 6, 2010, 7:00 pm

On Thursday, May 6 at 7:00 pm, CMU Public Television introduces the Community Cinema series at Dennos Museum on the campus of Northwestern Michigan College with the film Between the Folds. Community Cinema is a community outreach project of CMU Public Television and the Dennos Museum Center.

Think origami is just paper planes and cranes? Meet a determined group of theoretical scientists and fine artists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at hard-earned graduate degrees to forge new lives as modern-day paper folders. Together they reinterpret the world in paper, creating a wild mix of sensibilities towards art, science, creativity and meaning.

This screening event is part of the ITVS (Independent Television Service) Community Cinema program. Free screenings of Independent Lens films will be held the first Thursday of the month beginning January 2010 through June 2010. For more on the Independent Cinema series, including upcoming dates and films, visit WCMU.org/TV.
