The Dutch Dixies are a Dixieland band hailing from the city of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands They are six skilled musicians, all well recognized in their genre who are traveling from the Netherlands to Petoskey and Traverse City this summer, offering benefit concerts for various organizations in these communities. The orchestra has been a welcome guest at various Jazz Festivals in Europe and now we have the opportunity to enjoy them in our community and share in their talent as they provide this benefit concert for the Dennos Museum Center and Michael's Place.

The proceeds will provide scholarship funds for schools in need to make field trips to the Dennos Museum Center, and Michael's Places' programs for schools dealing with grief issues for children following the loss of a family member. The focus in both cases is on the educational needs of children.
