The Dennos Museum Center is seeking flexible and enthusiastic volunteers to join our docent program. Docents are vital museum volunteers that engage preschool and K-12 students, NMC Students, and the general public in discussions about the Museum's permanent collection and changing exhibitions during Museum tours. Guided by the Curator of Education and Interpretation, docents train weekly on Tuesday mornings and explore the who, what, where, when, how, and why of the visual arts and sciences. Docents use this training as they give weekly tours September through June. Training for new recruits begins this September. Please contact the Curator of Education and Interpretation at (231) 995-1029 to apply.
Volunteer guards are needed for the River of Gold exhibition. This is a great introduction to other volunteer possibilities at the museum. Shifts run 10 am-1:30 pm, 1:30-5 pm, 5-8 pm (on Thursday evenings), and 1-5 pm on Sundays. Call Ron Albers (946-3524) if you are interestedand would like more information.
See our Volunteer page for other volunteer opportunities at the Museum.
