Annual Summer Inuit Art Sale

bear carvingNow through October 18, 2009

For the past 50 years, NMC and the Museum have held a summer sale of Canadian Inuit Art. Former NMC librarian Bernie Rink, started selling Inuit carvings and prints from the Baffin Island region of the Canadian Arctic in 1960. He used the proceeds to build a collection for the college. In 1991 the Dennos Museum Center opened and became the home for the collection, which had grown to over 500 pieces. The Museum Store now continues that tradition and presents the 2009 Summer Sale of Inuit Art with a selection of new carvings.
