Price

What’s a 20-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee doing singing
jazz? It’s a good question, but one that Rachael Price finds
easy to answer. “I appreciate all kinds of music, but jazz
hit an inner chord with me at the age of five. I heard Ella Fitzgerald’s
rendition of ‘The Lady is a Tramp.’ I didn’t
underst! and the lyrics, but I liked the feeling it gave me.”
Noted actress/singer Kathryn Grayson of MGM fame says of Price:
"The best young voice I've heard, period. No one around can
even touch her voice and style -- a style all her own" www.rachaelpricesings.com

Redbone

- $27 advanced • $30 door
- Museum members pay $24 in advance by calling 231-995-1553
Leon Redbone continues his very real love affair with the tunes
from flapper era radio, Depression spawned ragtime and folk-jazz.
Yet, there is always something oddly modern a! bout this musician.
His lyrical satire and cynicism wear well with any generation.
“The man in the white straw boater and shades emphasizes
the era when Bing Crosby was considered a jazz singer and Fats
Waller was a pop act. Not many artists who play Ragtime-era music
can say they have sold 500,000 albums, appeared on Saturday Night
Live numerous times and popularized the Pepsi and Budweiser jingles
