Portraits of Blues Legends: Photography by Robert Barclay and David Fox.

Exhibit Dates: October 7, 2006 - June 3, 2007

The exhibition of 40 photographs features works by Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, photographer Robert Barclay and Traverse City photographer David Fox exhibiting works from their respective collections of blues photographs of such legends as Memphis Slim, Doctor Ross, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Albert Collins, Junior Wells, Johnny Shines, Champion Jack Dupree and Sippie Wallace among others.

Robert Barclay has been published in the New York Times, on numerous magazine and CD covers, and has been a contributing photographer to Living Blues, Blues Revue, Sing Out! and Big City Rhythm & Blues magazines for the past 18 years. He has produced and hosted a 3-hour weekly blues program on WCMU Public Radio, "The Juke Joint," for the past 21 years. In 2004 the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee presented him with the "Keeping the Blues Alive" award for his blues radio program.

David L. Fox has served as the Senior Editor and Photographer for Big City Rhythm & Blues Magazine, and on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Valley Blues Society. He has been instrumental in forming and supporting blues societies and promoting blues education in Northern Michigan and nationally. His blues photography has been published in Blues Access, Blues Review, Down Beat, Living Blues, King Biscuit Times, and Blueprint Magazine (London, UK).
