The works on view span the entire range of Rodin's artistic legacy from
his early works like The Mask of the Man with the
Broken Nose and Saint
John the Baptist Preaching, to studies from some of Rodin's major monuments
such as The Gates of Hell and The
Burghers of Calais. Figures from some
of his other monuments will also be featured, including Rodin's statues
of the artists Claude Lorrain and Jules
Bastien-Lepage. Each work will
be paired with a quote by the artist to shed light on the great sculptor's
working methods and artistic philosophies. This exhibition is organized
and made possible by the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation.
