The Dennos Museum Center partnered with a variety of community groups in creating a series of programs and events under the auspices of the Traverse City Human Rights Commission. In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Black History Month, and in conjunction with the exhibition, THEM: Images of Separation, these programs offered all members of the community multiple opportunities to learn and grow as peaceful and respectful citizens of a diverse nation.
“Embrace The Dream” was sponsored by DTE Energy Foundation and organized by the Traverse City Human Rights Commission and Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC).
Other partners included: State Theatre, Building Bridges with Music, NMC Student Life, Traverse Area District Library, Michigan Department of Civil Rights, Anti-Bullying Task Force, Great Lakes Children’s Museum, WCMU Public Television, and Traverse City Area Public Schools
