The Dennos Museum Center
Guided Tours

The Dennos Museum Center offers guided tours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Fridays between 9 a.m. and noon. Guided by a group of trained volunteer docents, students engage in discussions about current exhibitions. These interactive tours give students an opportunity to analyze artwork, draw connections between the arts and their lives, and make informed decisions about artwork.

Self-guided tours are available anytime during open hours. These tours allow students to explore the museum independently through worksheets and writing activities. Clipboards and pencils are available at the front desk.

In order to accommodate your tour a minimum of two weeks' notice is necessary.

Group admission rates:

  • $4 per student
  • teachers and aides admitted free
  • one chaperone for every 10 students admitted free, all others charged $6 per person
  • Art projects are offered with guided tours for the additional cost of $1 per student

All K-12 educational programming at the Dennos Museum Center addresses the Michigan and National Content Standards for Arts Education. We especially strive to provide experiences that fit into a curriculum for the New Michigan Merit Curriculum for the Visual, Performing and Applied Arts.
