Polar Bear and Musk Ox Naming Contest

Visitors to the Dennos Museum Center between September 1, 2008 and April 1, 2009 will have the opportunity to view and name the Musk Ox and Polar Bear. From April 2, 2009 to May 1, 2009, visitors and community members will have the opportunity to vote on the names of the animals at www.dennosmuseum.org. The new names of the polar bear and the musk ox will be revealed at a ceremony during our May 3, 2009 Family Day. To submit a name for either animal, visit the Dennos Museum Center.

An Da Union Family Concert

Saturday, Feb 21, 2009 1:00 - 2:00 pm
An Da Union, a performing arts group from Inner Mongolia, will do a special concert for families. Focusing on folk music and throat singing, these ten young and dynamic musicians from Inner Mongolia, bring power, excitement, and the haunting beauty of their homeland and culture to each and every performance. Tickets are $5 for youth and $10 for adults. Tickets include admission to the Museum and Family Day Activities. Click here for more information about Ad Da Union.

Family Days

Families and friends are invited to participate in a creative Saturday. This special day includes various activities such as dance, movement, music, story telling, creative writing and hands-on art relating to our current exhibitions. These interactive Saturdays are aimed to engage your senses and broaden your understanding of the arts. Regular Museum admission applies. Free to Museum members. For information call (231) 995-1029.

Stories, Scribbles & Wiggles Toddler Program:

This program is for children ages 3 to 5 and their parents or grandparents.  Each session includes activities in the galleries, a related story, and an art project.  Museum admission applies (member’s admission waived) plus a $1 art supply fee.  Reservations highly recommended due to program popularity (a maximum of 25 youth per program).
